We’ve been working on memorizing the books of the Bible at the beginning of Dive In and Connect. It’s helpful to know your way around the Bible, so if you don’t quite have that down yet, maybe these videos will help:

The Books of the Bible Song (HD) (techno-ish)

The Books of the Bible Song

Bible Book Bop (50′s music anyone?)

The Bible Song (rap)

We’ve also been doing Bible drills, sometimes referred to as sword drills. You should join us! You never know what kind of candy Mr. Black is going to be throwing out to the first person to find a Bible verse! If you’re suffering from candy withdrawal, better practice finding your way around the Bible and then come to Dive In (middle schoolers) or Connect (high schoolers)!

* If you’re working on Uncommon Accountability, come to Dive In or Connect early if you need help memorizing your verses.

It kicked off with a hockey game at Wings Stadium vs. the Trenton Titans (sadly, the K-Wings did not win), followed by a message about God’s grace. After that, there were LOTS of games. There was also bowling at Holiday Lanes and lots of fun at Western Michigan University’s Athletic Center.

If you didn’t get a chance to compete on the people powered Ferris wheel thing, you missed out an a unique experience for sure! You don’t always have to miss out on good times with Northeasterners, though. Join us for Worship, Bible study and fellowship on Sunday mornings, Sunday nights (Connect for high schoolers), and Wednesday evenings (Dive In for middle schoolers). We hope to see you soon!

At our very first Connect in May, in the spring of the year – you remember spring, that special time of year when the mud is supposed to dry up, the rain is supposed to ease up some, and it’s actually supposed to change from cold to warm and it’s supposed to be t-shirt weather now and then … anyway, how timely that our topic of study was the Immutability of God. Immutability is one way of referring to God’s unchanging nature. He is the same as He has always been. Unlike our weather (and yet strangely similar at this time of year), God does not change. He is always holy, he is always righteous, he is always just, faithful, and loving, among other things. He is not like a person who changes his mind on a whim. He is the way He always was and always will be. Thankfully, our weather will eventually change, but we can also be thankful that God never will.

Connect meets in the youth room on Sundays at 6 p.m. Feel free to come and hang out with us as we study what God’s word has to say, and check out the newest devotional based on last Sunday’s Connect: The Immutability of God. (We try to make these available to you each Tuesday.)

If you have any comments, questions or concerns, please contact one of us youth leaders.
